Busplatinen sind Platinen mit einer Reihe von Steckverbindern, die parallel an der Platine angebracht sind. Häufig befinden sich die Busplatinen an der Rückseite eines Baugruppenträgers und ermöglichen den Anschluss weiterer Platinen oder Komponenten, die in die Steckverbinder gesteckt werden. Die Anzahl der Kanäle reicht von 2 bis 21 bei möglichen Schnittstellen wie CompactPCI, Standard Bus, Uncommitted, VME J1, VME J1/J2 und VME J1/J2/J0.
